2. General information on data processing

This privacy policy applies to the website simplesymphony.com and all associated offerings such as newsletter sign-up and contact forms.

We only process personal data where this is permitted by law or where you consent to the processing (e.g. when signing up for the newsletter). Processing is carried out in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (nDSG).

3. Personal data & purposes of processing

a) Access data / server log files

When you visit the website, technical data is automatically transmitted and stored, e.g.:

  • IP address (shortened/anonymised)
  • Browser type, device type
  • Date/time of access
  • Pages accessed

This data serves exclusively to ensure the operation of the website, system security, troubleshooting and the statistical analysis of access behaviour. Collection takes place via the WP Statistics plugin, which stores the data on its own server and does not pass it on to third parties.

b) Newsletter

When you sign up for our newsletter, we process:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email
  • Phone (optional)
  • Institution / place / country (voluntary)
  • Message (voluntary)

Purpose: sending the agreed newsletter.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 12 ff. nDSG).

The newsletter sign-up is handled via Mailchimp. Your entered data is transmitted to Mailchimp and processed there in order to send the newsletter.

c) Contact / registration forms

When you fill out a form (e.g. „Repertoire Orchestra registration"), we collect and process:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • other content you provide voluntarily

Purpose: responding to your enquiry / carrying out the registration.

Legal basis: consent or contractual processing (Art. 12 ff. nDSG).

d) Cookies & similar technologies

Our website uses cookies and comparable techniques to ensure functionality and to analyse usage.

Analytics cookies:

  • WP Statistics cookies to analyse user behaviour (within a purely server-side tool)

4. Embedded content & external services

Our website may embed third-party content and services:

a) YouTube

Embedded videos are loaded from YouTube (Google). Data may be transmitted to YouTube/Google servers (in particular IP address and usage data).

b) Google reCAPTCHA & Google Forms

  • reCAPTCHA protects against abuse (e.g. spam protection in forms)
  • Google Forms is used for certain registration forms

Both services are products of Google and are subject to its data protection provisions. Personal data is transmitted to Google.

5. Hosting & data location

The website is hosted by:

hosttech.ch

This means that the technical systems on which parts of your data are processed are operated in data centres run by Hosttech.

Hosttech may technically store or process certain data (e.g. server log files).

6. Disclosure to third parties

Personal data is not sold.

Data is only shared with service providers where this is necessary for the performance of the contract or technical provision, e.g.:

  • Mailchimp (newsletter)
  • Google (Forms, reCAPTCHA, YouTube embedding)
  • Hosting provider (Hosttech)

These third parties process data within their own area of responsibility. Where data is processed outside Switzerland or the EU, a different level of data protection may apply.

7. Retention period

We generally store personal data for as long as it is necessary for the purpose or until you withdraw your consent.

Recommended standard retention periods:

  • Newsletter data: until withdrawal/cancellation
  • Form enquiries: until resolved + 12 months
  • Analytics data in the statistics tool: until withdrawal / internal deletion periods
